The collection also includes the long poem "The Social Schedule of Death", which examines the possibility of the transcendence of relationships, in the context of the poet's metaphysical outlook. The next-to-last poem in the collection, before "The Social Schedule of Death", titled "Apology to Christians" is a provocative declaration of spiritual independence every inquiring-minded person should read.
