This book proposes a method for extending the bandwidth of rectangular waveguides. It consists of using steps with sharp edges, in the cross section of the guide, along the propagation direction. The steps, existing along the propagation direction, divide the cross sections of the guides into rectangular regions. The analysis method in this book consists in the use of local ordinate systems for mathematical expressions of the magnetic and electrical components of the wave.
