The WEU is headquartered in Brussels, with a staff of 65 and an annual budget of EUR13.4 million. There are no formal ties between the WEU and the European Union, although all WEU members are also EU members. It is expected that WEU members will decide to scrap the organisation following the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon on 1 December 2009.
