O knihe
A new approach to science education is a pupils' level of development oriented one allowing children to improve their natural abilities to learn. It is presented how to guide pupils during a teaching - learning process aimed to help them in developing their skills, need and ability to look for, find, estimate and assemble new knowledge for applying it to solve new problems. Guidance of this development should start at the beginning of formal school education, even earlier. Primary schools pupils should have a contact with the newest results of scientific research for they loose interest in science at this level. Some great scientists had not been the best pupils from the very beginning of their education. For those children, who are not very good in following at school a routine way of thinking there should be a possibility to present their own initiatives and creativity in science following their personal interests and motivations. This approach has been used in individual cases with good results. Applied in a bigger scale will decrease a number of school failers and increase a number of innovative and creative school leavers interested in science and engineering career.
