Although many African governments, public institutions, NGOs, investment institutions and entrepreneurial firms have begun to deepen their discourses on the economic, social, technological, legal and institutional implications of AI adoption on the continent, many gaps persist. For instance, Africa’s investment into AI to support the nurturing, incubating and scaling of start-ups and entrepreneurial firms remains comparatively low to the rest of the world. Patient Rambe is a Full Professor of Entrepreneurship and Director of the Centre for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Studies in the Faculty of Management Sciences at the Central University of Technology, Free State, South Africa. He is an Associate Editor of the African Journal of Information Systems and has published widely in books and journals.

Brighton Nyagadza is a Lecturer in Digital Marketing at the School of Business and Health Studies, York St. John University, London Campus, United Kingdom. He is a full member of the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe, an Associate of The Chartered Institute of Marketing and Power Member of the Digital Marketing Institute.
