Mr. A. E. Goodwin, on behalf of the Federa tion staff, the 120 association secretaries, and the 12 alliance secretaries paid a tribute to Mr. Lake, in whom they had all found a real friend. To Mr. Lake, the Federation was a living organism, and he treated it accordingly. It was only those who had lived and worked Side by side and day by day with him who could adequately appreciate his unfailing courtesy, and his readiness to take the, blame and the responsibility for any shortcoming on) the part of any member of the staff.
