The scope of this paper is in the lines of social research theories and practices and the sustainability development processes. The aforementioned tenets cover mostly Kosovo with slight assessments on regional and global perspectives and approaches towards social research. This paper assesses the research environment and conditions in social studies of the post war period. As the Kosovo's war repercussions were significant, as it affected mostly the economy itself, this paper tries to spot and identify the challenges and obstacles of the research and think tank institutes.
