[International Trade: Theory, Strategy and Challenges] This book is designed to examine the following themes relating to international trade and investment-the two vital drivers of both economic growth and economic development: (a) the benefits that accrue to countries which actively participate in cross-border trade; (b) trade theory and strategy; (c) implications of trade theory for developing countries; (d) trade and economic liberalization; (e) the case for economic integration; and (f) trade and the natural environment. The chapters of the book are followed by a brief survey of the following themes in the appendices: (a) anatomy of trade deficits; (b) the nature of trade barriers; (c) money laundering and the scourge of dirty money; and (d) the stain of using children as articles of trade.
