Le api tra realtà scientifica e rappresentazione letteraria e artistica

Was ist der Abstand zwischen der Biene in der Literatur und im Kino, und der wahren Natur der Biene? Es ist wahr, dass die Biene durch den Kontakt mit Menschen in tausenden von Jahren eine kognitive Fähigkeit von Raum und Zeit entwickelt hat, die andere Insekten nicht haben. Können wir von einem "Geist" der Bienen sprechen? Auf diese Fragen versucht die Tagung "Die Bienen zwischen wissenschaftlichen Fakten und literarischer und künstlerischer Darstellung" eine Antwort zu geben (Urbino, 29-30 Oktober 2009); organisiert von der Abteilung für Literatur und Moderne Sprachen, Philologie und Linguistik, Universität Urbino, und inspiriert von der Zusammenarbeit zwischen humanistischer und wissenschaftlicher Kultur zu Themen, die komplexe Fragen von globaler Bedeutung mit den spezifischen örtlichen Gegebenheiten zu verbinden trachten.

How far are the inventions of literature and cinema from the actual nature of the bee? Is it true that the bee, after thousands of years of contact with man, has developed a cognitive capacity of space and time that other insects lack? Can we speak of a bee's "mind"? All these questions were tackled in the conference «Le api tra realtà scientifica e rappresentazione letteraria e artistica» (Urbino, 29-30 October 2009), organized by the Department of Modern Languages, Philology and Linguistics of Urbino University, and exploiting a comparative collaboration between humanistic and scientific cultures on themes able to combine complex issues, of worldwide interest, with the specific reality of the field.

Che cosa succederebbe se le api decidessero (come si vede in un recente cartoon della Disney) di sospendere la produzione di miele? Le conseguenze sarebbero nefaste non solo per i piccoli produttori di miele e per milioni di golosi cultori, ma per tutto il Pianeta. Il miele è il prodotto finale di una quotidiana infaticabile attività di impollinazione. Ma sono tutte così importanti le api? Si sa che solo una piccola parte delle api produce il miele? Perché scrittori e artisti parlano prevalentemente dell'apis mellifera? Qual è la distanza fra l'ape entrata nella letteratura e nel cinema, e la reale natura dell'insetto? È vero che l'ape, grazie al contatto millenario con l'uomo, ha sviluppato una capacità cognitiva dello spazio e del tempo che altri insetti non hanno? Si può parlare di una "mente" dell'ape? A queste domande risponde il convegno «Le api tra realtà scientifica e rappresentazione letteraria e artistica» (Urbino, 29-30 ottobre 2009), organizzato dal Dipartimento di Letterature Moderne e Scienze Filologiche e Linguistiche dell'Università di Urbino, e ispirato al confronto collaborativo tra cultura umanistica e cultura scientifica su temi in grado di combinare questioni complesse, di interesse mondiale, con la specifica realtà del territorio.

Quelle distance sépare les abeilles qui peuplent la littérature et le cinéma de la nature réelle de l'abeille? Est-il vrai que l'abeille, par son contact millénaire avec l'homme, a développé une appréhension cognitive de l'espace et du temps inconnue à d'autres insectes? Peut-on parler de « l'esprit » des abeilles? C'est à ces questions qu'essaie de répondre le colloque « Les abeilles entre réalité scientifique et représentation littéraire et artistique » (Urbino, 29-30 octobre 2009) organisé par le Département de Littératures modernes et Sciences Philologiques et Linguistiques de l'Université d'Urbino dans le but de favoriser le dialogue entre culture humaniste et culture scientifique sur des thèmes complexes, d'intérêt mondial, en rapport avec la réalité du terroir.
